Black silicon carbide is black, brittle and sharp, and has good thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. It takes petroleum coke and high quality silicon as raw materials, adds salt as additive, and is fused through the electric resistance furnace at more than 2200˚C temperature.
Green silicon carbide is a non-metallic mineral product produced by high quality quartz sand and petroleum coke at the high temperature over 1800ºC in the electric resistance furnace. It contains more than 99% of SiO2,good self-sharpness, and its toughness is slightly lower than black silicon carbide.
